Product Care & Installation Help Guide

Proper installation and routine maintenance will ensure your bathroom furniture and illuminated mirrors maintain their pristine beauty and operational longevity. Follow these practical recommendations:

1. LED Illuminated Mirrors & Mirror Cabinets

  • Electrical Fitting: In accordance with UK IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671), hard-wired mains LED mirrors and shaver sockets must be installed by a qualified NICEIC-certified electrician. Ensure mains power is isolated prior to connection.
  • Glass Cleaning: Use a soft, lint-free microfibre cloth lightly dampened with warm water or a specialist ammonia-free glass cleaner. Never spray chemical cleaning fluids directly onto mirror edges or touch-sensor switches, as capillary action can degrade the reflective silver backing over time.
  • Ventilation: Always ensure adequate extractor fan ventilation in your bathroom to prevent prolonged steam accumulation around cabinet edges.

2. Bathroom Vanity Cabinets & Ceramic Basins

  • Water Spills: While our furniture features moisture-resistant lacquered finishes, standing water on vanity worktops or inside drawers should be wiped dry with a clean cloth immediately to preserve wood veneers.
  • Ceramic Basins: Clean vitreous china basins using non-abrasive liquid soap and a soft sponge. Avoid bleach blocks, harsh scouring pads, or acidic descalers that could erode the glazed ceramic surface.
  • Silicone Sealing: When installing a basin atop a vanity unit, apply a discreet bead of sanitary silicone sealant along the rear edge where the ceramic meets wall tiles to prevent hidden water ingress.

3. Stainless Steel Recessed Shower Niches

  • Waterproofing: During installation into stud walls, ensure the outer flange of the stainless steel niche is properly integrated with your shower tanking membrane.
  • Finish Care: For matt black or brushed stainless steel finishes, wipe down weekly with warm soapy water to prevent shampoo residue and limescale deposits. Avoid using wire wool or abrasive cleaning agents.
